When making a decision to choose a dental office and a dentist, there are others things should be considered other than do you except my dental insurance. It should not be based alone on that factor alone. The dental office needs to meet other factors as well, like take the time to listen and give you options? Do you feel comfortable with the dental office, dentist and staff? Are you allowed to spend time asking questions and make sure you take the time educating yourself on what needs to be done.
Get a 2nd opinion if you do not feel comfortable with the information you received. Ask about alternative methods for payments to complaint the insurance as well as when the amount of treatment exceeds the insurance allowance what options are available to you so you can complete the treatment program.
It has been well established that killer disease such as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension,cancers and others are intimately connected to the state of your oral health. Oral health – good or bad – influences or establishes the status of your total body health. People young and old with poor oral health neither live as well nor as long as people with good oral health. You may think you can ignore bad oral health without consequences – you can not! The worse the condition of your mouth – the more it costs to regain good oral health.
The real cost is not treating your mouth. The real cost is the loss of life while you live and ultimately the loss of life itself. The real cost of oral disease is the loss of income while you fight heart disease, diabetes, cancer and other inflammatory disease that are the most significant killers and maybe worse, our most worse disablers – died at 50, dead at 75. Oral Disease is insidious. It may not cause pain while it is creating your finale destruction, it is the energy within a silent gang leader. A gang leader that is just under the radar enough to think you are ok – when in truth you are very sick and until you get a bad diagnosis, you have been going down a very slippery slope.
