A comprehensive examination and consultation in Dr. Adams office includes being able to actually see the results of your exam as they are revealed. An intra-oral camera provides immediate insight into any problems Dr. Adams detects. He uses the camera to educate you about your oral health and show you on a 19” screen where areas of concern may be surfacing.
“Intra-oral cameras and monitors help our patients see their problems in real time, and because they magnify, they also help me see the intricacies of any oral health issues,” explains the doctor. “the better you can see something, the better you can understand it and , consequently, provide better treatment for it.”
Before Dr. Adams provides any genial or cosmetic treatments, he does a complete comprehensive exam, which includes x-rays, an intra-oral exam including soft and hard tissue, and cancer screening.
“I want to know the exact condition of my patient’s oral health and eliminate any barriers to achieving maximum health.” Dr. Adams feels responsibility to help patient’s be healthy.
Advanced technology and improved techniques allow Dr. Adams to accomplish significant improvements allow Dr. Adams to accomplish oral health, dental function and cosmetic appearance; minus the pain such visits might have produced at one time. With all the excellent new dental materials, including composites, resins, and glass ionomers that are available today, Dr. Adams says he has not placed an amalgam filling in over ten years. He uses lasers for soft tissue surgeries and disease management because they produce less discomfort and better healing. “We also use microair abrasion, instead of a drill, for removing decay, thus requiring smaller fillings, which require no anesthesia,” he notes, “and the process is very predictable.”

Anthony J Adams DDS, received his undergraduate degree from the university of South Florida and his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. After serving as a United States Army dentist for six years, Dr. Adams returned home and entered private practice in Clearwater, Florida.
